- USB active repeater with premium 5-meter/16-foot cable, with standard USB Type A male to type A female connectors
- Connect remote USB printers, speakers, scanners, Active Extension Cable 5 Meter USB display adapters, keyboards/mice, etc.
- Up to three cables can be connected in series, but devices with high power consumption may require a powered USB hub between the cable and the device.
- Not recommended for webcams or video cameras at high resolution. Does not work for charging batteries on devices such as iPhones, iPads, tablets, etc.
Overview
Tripp Lite’s Active Extension Cable 5 Meter 16-ft. (4.88 m) USB 2.0 Extension Cable is a bus powered extension cable that can be used to increase the length of a device cable without the worry of signal loss and potential performance problems. USB limits a cable’s length to 16-ft. (4.88 m). Any length above 16-ft. (4.88 m) requires the use of an active cable such as this one. This cable has a signal booster built in. The overall cable length can be extended up to 80-ft. (24.38 m) by daisy-chaining up to 5 of these active cables. The U026-016 provides up to 150mA of power to the connected device. If your device requires more than 150mA of power, it will either need to have its own power supply or need to be plugged into a powered USB 2.0 hub (such as U222-004-R) that is connected to the U026-016. Use a standard 6-ft. (1.83 m), 10-ft. (3.05 m), or 15-ft. (4.57 m) USB cable to reach the desired distance.

System Requirements
- A USB 2.0 port and USB 2.0 device are required to achieve USB Active Extension Cable 5 Meter 2.0 speeds. A USB 1.1 port and/or device can be used, but you will not be able to achieve USB 2.0 speeds.
- The U026-016 provides up to 150mA of power to the connected device. If your device requires more than 150mA of power, it will either need to have its own power supply; or, to be plugged into a powered USB 2.0 hub (such as U222-004-R) that is connected to the U026-016.

I am using it with my roof mounted projector. This cable is very useful as it goes along with the power cable and I do not need to climb up to insert pendrive in the projector.A very useful cable.

The cable is of excellent quality and performs the task well. I bought it because I have weak 3G signal reception at my rented room. This product has solved the problem and now I am able to surf the internet at great speed.Some people have commented that we require a repeater to make this cable work but this is not the case. No repeater is required. Just attach the cable to the laptop/computer and the other end to the dongle and you would be fine. The computer will detect the dongle or any other device that you attach.Very much satisfied with the product. Thanks Technotech.

I use this active usb extension to connect my sony dslr to my computer which is placed far away. This helps me transfer files. People often make the mistake of buying a powered usb hub to transfer files from far placed peripherals. Well this is the solution to do so. This will not help you charge or power your hdd Or device. For that use this active usb extension along with a powered usb hub.

I was having lots of problems with 4G signal at my place. So I attached this cable to my router and connected USB dongle to other end of this cable and fixed it in an open area where signal was better. I am happy my problem of poor internet speed has been solved to great extent. I didn’t feel any drop in signal due to length of the cable. Would recommend all those facing signal issue. Value for money.
