Installation Steps :
- Simply remove your CD/DVD-ROM drive and put the tray (with the Your hard drive) in its place.
- Unpack the New drive.
- lift the adapter retaining latch.
- the screw to the hard disk.
- Insert the drive into the Adapter at an angle.
- Slide the drive into the connector until it locks into place.
- Lower the adapter retaining latch until it snaps closed.

Working fine. Fits just by small catch. Wish there were slots for screws. Also, it would be fantastic if some kind of tape was provided to cover any areas left exposed due to design of CD bay itself in the chasis, for example on HP Probook 4430, the CD bay for original bezel is like a trapezium, and the new bezel is a smaller rectangle.

I bought this for my macbook pro mid 2012, to place the old HDD at the optical drive bay, while I switch to a newer and faster SSD. My macbook is 5 years old and regret doing the swap now, because I can’t image the past years with dirty slow boot times and application loads. This is a awesome product.I was bit worried to use it, but after installing it, I am really happy.Now I have 512GB SSD + 1TB Hybrid storage in my laptop.Response and read/write speed is also acceptable.One less start is because of the tightness of screws, otherwise rest everything is good enough.The most important good thing is the price….

Good product and its working fine and data access speed is also good. Its a little bit hard to place in the position in the drive bay, but its worth to access the HDD as a 2nd drive.

Replaced the cd drive of my Dell Inspiron 15R with this. I then bought a 1 TB hard disk for around Rs.4k or something and set it inside this caddy https://www.amazon.in/dp/B007HYIW2K/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_15.. So, my laptop which had only 1 320GB hardisk has now 2 harddisks insde (1TB+320GB). You will have to trade off your cd drive. But i figured CD and now phased out, just like floppies drives.One might say the laptops fan sound might have increased but besides that im not facing any performance issues on Windows 7

The caddy doesn’t work properly it causes the laptop to get jammed and the capslock key starts blinking.I tried it on two laptops hp AU111tx and Lenovo g40-45 and it gave the same issue so I’m 100% sure that there is something wrong with the caddy.Also despite being a prime subscriber Amazon doesn’t allow me to return the products this is not Amazon fulfilled.So please don’t buy this product

Please ask before buy that it is suitable for your laptop or not, in my case i have dell 5559 laptop. And this product does not fit in my laptop it is thicker then the existing dvd rom, and there is no refund option for this product, so i have wested my money on this product.

This is a nice profuct its just that, the screws on the right side have to be either screwed in properly or removed so that the caddy fits in the space properly,I had to open my laptop to install it, later I realised the screws were a problem, but the caddy was fine,so I could have installed it without fiddling with my laptop too much.The extra screwdriver helps a lot as well its strong and gets the job done.

Very nice product. Getting full speed on SSD (Over 500MBPS W/R). Only gripe is the outer cover of the optical drive tray does not fit properly on this. It will not come off as such, but if a piece of thread from a bag gets tangled in a crevice and we pull it, the cover pops off, unlike in the case of optical drive where the thread itself breaks.

Be careful before you use your existing hard disk with data. 90% chances of data corruption would happen if you connect it to your laptop.I used my existing HDD, and data got corrupted!Additionally, I did not get those blue coloured parts to keep the HDD intact.
